Intent for Writing​

At PPS, we aim to inspire a love of words and language so that every child becomes a confident writer who can write for a range of purposes and enjoys the process. We nurture self-reflective writers who take ownership of their work—planning, editing, and striving for improvement.​

At the heart of our writing curriculum are high-quality texts, carefully chosen to engage and excite children. These texts introduce rich language and inspiring ideas that encourage creativity and help children develop their own unique voice.​

We strive to develop writers who are grammatically accurate and who enjoy playing with and manipulating language for effect. Our focus on grammar equips children with the tools they need to write effectively and showcase their growing vocabulary and language choices.​

We immerse children in a language-rich environment, exposing them to a wide range of vocabulary and encouraging them to ‘play with words’, fostering curiosity and enjoyment of language. Through this, we aim to create confident, imaginative writers who can communicate with clarity and creativity.​
